It was an extraordinary week that required a constant quiet readiness to notice and respond to different needs, but gave me an indescribable joy in the relationships I experienced and the satisfaction of managing something unusual for myself. While I definitely would not want to maintain a guest apartment on a daily basis, I can see how it could be helpful for special occasions. Hearing a genuine, “It’s so nice that you took us in,” from one of the guests still resonates with me today. It confirms that what we offer goes beyond just physical comfort; it is something much deeper.

Host family
We are kindly asking the residents of Tallinnn and the surrounding areas to open their homes and offer hospitality to young participants (aged 18-35) of the European Meeting during the period 28.12.2024 ̶ 01.01.2025. Your guest won’t need much – just a warm room and a place to sleep. Even a small 2 m2 space is enough. The young pilgrims will bring their own sleeping mat and bag, so having a bed, couch, mattress or pull-out sofa is not essential.
Kindness is more important than a well-equipped guest room!
They’ll share in your simple breakfast on four mornings (29.12.2024 ̶ 01.01.2025) and your lunch on January 1st (01.01.2025).
From 8am to 10pm (during New Years Eve until 2am), the young people will be taken care of as they participate in the events program. Lunch and Dinner will be provided to them there as well.
The morning Programm will take placein either your home congregation or the nearest registered hosting parish to where you live.
Please keep in mind that the young people need to travel there for morning prayer and back to your place after the common evening prayer in Tondiraba jäähall.
If public transport is not available you will need to provide transportation for your guests!
